Peter Lee initially trained as a chemical engineer
and has been specialising in remuneration consulting for over 28 years
following a fairly diversified career in manufacturing and marketing in
MNCs such as Shell and IBM. His last job before embarking on a
consulting career was CEO of a public-listed manufacturing company
employing over 500 workers.
He developed his consulting and remuneration skills when he worked as an
in-house consultant and trouble-shooter to a large Malaysian-based
conglomerate. This was followed by 10 years with Hay Associates
designing and refocusing remuneration packages for public and private
client organizations in Singapore, HK and the Asia Pacific region.
Over the last 28 years, Peter has consulted with more than 300 local,
government-linked and multinational organisations in the areas of job
evaluation, incentives design, performance appraisal and organisational
alignment.
Recently, his services have been actively sought by many public listed
companies to advise on wage restructuring and CEO and directors’
remuneration especially in the area of variable rewards/incentives and
longer term share plans.
Peter graduated with a B.Sc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial
College, UK, in 1966 and a Diploma in Business Administration from the
University of Toronto, Canada, 1974.
His work experience included being a Refinery Technologist at Shell
Eastern,
Head of Technical Sales, Shell Singapore. Overseas, he has been Project
Co-ordinator, SNC Consultants, Montreal, Canada, Marketing Support
Manager, Royal Trust Realty, Montreal, Canada, Business Analyst, IBM
Canada, Toronto, Canada. In Malaysia, he has been Managing Director,
Perak Carbide Corporation Bhd, Project Director & Consultant, MBF Group,
Malaysia. He has been Senior Principal Consultant, Hay Associates - 1981
to 1990.
Since March 1990, he has been Managing Consultant of RDS Remuneration
Data Specialists Pte Ltd.
